Mr. Sheldon Frazier
Associate Director of BandsMr. Sheldon Frazier is a native of Columbia, South Carolina. He joined the music faculty of Plymouth High School in June of 2009 where he serves as Associate Director of Bands. At Plymouth, he is involved with the total operation of the program, assisting with the Marching Band as well as conducting and assisting the Concert and Jazz Ensembles.
Mr. Frazier graduated from Western Carolina University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Music Education. While at WCU, Mr. Frazier performed with the Wind Ensemble, Concert Choir, Saxophone Quartet, and served as Woodwind Coordinator, Staff Coordinator and two years as Drum Major for the “Pride of the Mountains” Marching Band.
As a member of the WCU Saxophone Quartet, Mr. Frazier performed at the United States Navy Band Saxophone Symposium as well as the University of Massachusetts Saxophone Symposium, where he worked with Dr. Kenneth Tse.
Prior to coming to Plymouth, Mr. Frazier has been mentored by Mr. Bob Buckner, Director of Athletic Bands at WCU and Mr. David Starnes, Director of Bands at Kennesaw Mountain High School. Mr. Frazier holds memberships in the National Band Association, Music Educators National Conference and The National Education Association.
