Mr. Jed Leach

Jed Leach is the newest addition to the PCEP staff and will be serving as the school’s Percussion Coordinator where he will oversee the fall and winter drumline programs, the percussion ensemble and work with the percussionists in the concert bands.

At Morehead State University in Morehead, KY, Jed received his BM in music education under the tutelage of Frank Oddis and Brian Mason. As a performer at MSU, Jed was involved in many ensembles and was section leader of all of them including the concert and symphony bands, both jazz ensembles, indoor and outdoor drumline programs, percussion ensembles and the newly formed steel band.

 His other performances and accomplishments of note include being section leader of the 2003 PASIC indoor drumline champions, MSU’s percussion ensemble new music performance at PASIC 2003, performing twice in the Saturday night featured ensembles at the NABBA conference, once with the MSU Percussion Ensemble, and once with the Lexington Brass Band. He also was part of Morehead’s noted tours to Beijing, China in 2000, and to Brazil in 2003.

Additionally, Jed is an alumnus of the Phantom Regiment Drum and Bugle Corps from Rockford, IL. He was a member of the tenor line in 2001 and played marimba in the front ensemble in 2002.

As an educator, Jed was an instructor/arranger with the George Rogers Clark High School (Winchester KY), and the Lafayette High School (Lexington KY) bands before starting at PCEP. Jed is a member of the Percussive Arts Society and endorses Innovative Percussion products.
