Mr. Dave Armbruster
Director of BandsMr. David Armbruster, a native of White Lake, Michigan, received his Bachelors of Music Education degree from Western Michigan University in 2000 and his Masters of Music Education
degree from the same university in 2005. He joined the music faculty at Plymouth High School in June of 2009, where he serves as the Director of Bands.
Mr. Armbruster served as Director of Bands with the Northmont band program located in Northmont Ohio where the program has had a strong reputation in both the concert hall and marching arenas. Northmont has been a consistent Bands of America Regional Finalist as well as a National Semi-Finalist and former National Finalist in 2000. Northmont concert bands consistently receive Superior at all OMEA District and State Concert events.
In his 9 years of teaching, Dave has served one year as the Associate Director of Bands at Grandville High School, and five years as the Co-Director of Bands at Jenison High School. During his tenure at Jenison high school, the music program received many honors. The Jenison Band program school was named a Grammy Signature School three times and was also noted as one of the top 100 communities for Music Education for 5 straight years. The Jennison concert bands consistently received Superior ratings at all MSBOA district and state events. The marching band was a 3 time MCBA Flight 2 State Champion, and a consistent Bands of America Regional Finalist and Semi Finalist under Daves directorship.
Mr. Armbruster has served as a clinician and adjudicator throughout the country. In addition to his activities as a clinician and adjudicator, Mr. Armbruster is a drill designer for high school bands in Michigan, Indiana and Ohio. Mr. Armbruster and his wife Dawn have two boys, Dawson and Carter.
