Mr. Dave Armbruster
Director of Bands

Mr. David Armbruster accepted the position as Director of Bands for Plymouth Canton Educational Park in 2009. A native of White Lake, Michigan, Armbruster received his Bachelors of Music Education degree from Western Michigan University in 2000, followed by his Masters of Music Education degree in 2005.

Beginning his career in 2000, Mr. Armbruster served as Assistant Director of Bands at Grandville High School in Grandville, Michigan. During his time at Grandville, the concert programs received Superior ratings at all District and State events.

In 2001, Mr. Armbruster moved to Jenison High School, where he spent five years as Co-Director of Bands. During his tenure at Jenison High School, the music program received many honors. The Jenison Band Program was named a Grammy Signature School three times and was also noted as one of the top 100 communities in the country, for Music Education for five years in a row. The Jenison Concert Bands consistently received Superior ratings at all MSBOA District and State events. Under Mr. Armbruster's directorship, the marching band was a three time MCBA Flight 2 State Champion, and a consistent Bands of America Regional Finalist and Grand National Semi-Finalist.

In 2006, Mr. Armbruster continued his career in Clayton, Ohio as Director of Bands for Northmont High School. The Northmont band program has had a strong reputation in both the concert hall and marching band arenas. The Northmont Marching Band has been a consistent Bands of America Regional Finalist, and Grand Nationals Semi-Finalist. Northmont concert bands also have a continuing reputation to receive Superior ratings at all OMEA District and State Festivals. In Mr. Armbruster's final year at Northmont, Clayton, Ohio was rated as one of the top 100 communities for Music Education.

In addition to his activities in the band room and on the field, Mr. Armbruster has also served as a clinician and adjudicator throughout the country and continues to design drill for various high school bands in the mid west. Mr. Armbruster currently lives in Canton, Michigan with his wife Dawn and their 2 boys Dawson and Carter.
